TerseWriting

Terse writing is trying to write as little as possible, just enough for you to be able to repeat the process and avoid the [Wiki]BlindAlley s next time.

Closely related to SpeedTalk (try to convey as much information verbally in as little time as possible) and ____(need name) (try to convey as much information in as little area of paper as possible).

TerseWriting not about minimizing the amount of paper you use, it's about minimizing the amount of time required to jot it down, and the time required to cross out stuff that no longer applies and append in newly-learned information.

TerseWriting is great for quick notes that will only be read once or twice (if ever) before they are trashed.

TerseWriting may not be appropriate for documents that are read many times more often than they are written (for example, software source code).

TerseWriting is one way to try to fight [CommunityWiki]ChangeFailure.
