PhotoWiki

The first wiki had only plain text.

Many wiki now allow in-line images that the text flows around.

At least one wiki has only images: PhotoWiki [WWW] http://photowiki.ywp.d2g.com/ (Currently mostly photos of kittens)

discussion: [WWW] http://www.wiki.org/wiki.cgi?PhotoWiki [WWW] http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?PhotoWiki

But those images are static; they cannot be collaboratively edited, only replaced all-at-once.

Is Visual Wiki the best wiki for talk about photography ? Image composition, proper lighting, etc.

panoramic photos and stitching

Many times we have a lot of small photos with a bit of overlap between them, and we want to "stitch" them together to make one big photo. For example, you can stand in one spot, turn and make many photos, and then later piece them together to make a panorama (see [WWW] Wikipedia: panoramic photography). Or perhaps you have many top-down views of an area, and you want to make a map (note: [WWW] "Don't fly planes over secure National Labs!").

Software you can use to stitch those photos together:
