Visual Language: Global Communication for the 21st Century
(we call this page "HornsVisualLanguageBook," because "VisualLanguageGlobalCommunicationForThe21stCentury" is too long.)
RobertHorn wrote this book to teach some of the elements of VisualLanguage.
It's actually written using VisualLanguage. Get a feel for it- look at the many
Example selections from the book.
It's sort of like a comic, but with much more diagram than sequence of panel (like ScottMcCloud's teaching comics.) However, I'm not sure why
it has a table of contents, rather than a MapOfContents.
RobertHorn's company, MacroVu, publishes and
sells the book. You can also get it from Amazon. It is currently out of print, however.
Discussion
I haven't read it yet, so I can't say much about it. However, it's the biggest items on my "must read" list, right now. Too bad my local library system doesn't carry it. -- LionKimbro
Ironically, the parts that made the most sense to me were written in old fashioned text. -- 81.211.110.171 2005-01-29 15:55:23
Really? Would you have preferred a textual description of
this diagram?
It sounds like the OldAcademicPrejudiceAgainstPictures to me.
